Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts where a hand invention that allowed a platform to park stationary and the lift the platform to a specified height use the Scissor styled hydraulics. This makes getting to height places safely with materials much easier to do.
Scissor lifts are all rated differently for different heights and weights. You never want to use one for what it is not rated as it could result in a major accident. There are numerous manufacturers of scissor lifts such as Genie, JLG, Skyjack and others.
